You do not have to move your domain
DNS hosting and domain registration are different things. Leave your domain registered wherever it is, change its nameservers to ours, and you get the full editor without transferring anything.
- Every record type you are likely to need — A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA, NS and more — with TTL control on each.
- One-click presets for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, which add every record those services need in the right shape.
- Helpers for SPF, DKIM and DMARC, because mail that fails these quietly lands in spam folders.
- Import your existing zone rather than retyping it, then switch when the records match.
How a switch works without downtime
The order matters. Done this way nobody notices the change.
-
Set the records up here first
Import or recreate your existing records while your domain still points at your current provider. Nothing is live yet, so mistakes cost nothing.
-
Check them against what is live
Compare record by record — especially MX, because getting mail wrong is the one mistake people actually feel. We will check them with you if you ask.
-
Change the nameservers
At your registrar. For a few hours some resolvers use the old answers and some the new — which is harmless, because both now say the same thing.
About DNS
Do I need this if my registrar already does DNS?
Not necessarily. Registrar DNS is usually fine for a simple site. This is worth it when you want faster lookups worldwide, record types your registrar does not support, or your DNS managed beside the rest of your infrastructure rather than in a separate account.
Will changing nameservers break my email?
Only if the MX records are wrong when you switch, which is why you set them up here first and check before changing anything. If you use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, the preset adds every record correctly in one click.
How long does propagation take?
Usually a few hours, occasionally up to 24 depending on the TTL your current provider set. Lowering that TTL a day before you switch shortens the window considerably.
What happens if I go over 25 domains?
We move you to the Business plan, or you tell us to and we will. Nothing stops working and nothing is charged retrospectively.
Can I use this with hosting elsewhere?
Yes. DNS hosting stands entirely on its own — plenty of people use it while their site lives with another provider.
Do you support DNSSEC?
Ask us — it depends on your registrar as much as on us, and the answer differs by extension. We will tell you straight whether it works for your domain.
We will do the move with you
Send us the domain and we will set the records up, check them against what is live now, and tell you when it is safe to switch. No charge.
Move your DNS across
We set it up and check it before you change a thing.
