Storage that feeds your delivery zones for free.
S3-compatible, so anything that already speaks S3 works with it. What makes it worth using is what happens when you serve those files.

The egress trap, and why this avoids it
Storage is cheap everywhere. Getting your data back out is where the bill comes from. Amazon charges roughly ₹8.60 per gigabyte to move data out of S3 — serve a terabyte of downloads in a month and that is about ₹8,600 on top of the storage. Here, moving data from storage into your delivery zones costs nothing at all.
- Store once, serve worldwide. Files go into storage and are delivered from the edge without a second transfer charge.
- Replication is a setting. Copy a zone into additional regions from your dashboard; no migration and no re-upload.
- S3-compatible. Existing tools, SDKs and backup software work unchanged.
- Per-zone credentials. Each zone has its own read-write and read-only keys, so you can hand out access that cannot delete anything.
When this is the wrong product
If you only need somewhere to park cold data, buy it elsewhere
Our wholesale cost on storage is higher than what Backblaze B2 and Wasabi charge their retail customers. That is simply true, and we would rather say it than have you find out later.
- Use them instead for backups, archives, and anything you write once and rarely read. They are cheaper per terabyte and that is the only thing that matters for cold data.
- Use us when the same files are also being served to visitors — because then the free transfer into delivery is worth more than the per-terabyte difference.
- The break-even is roughly how much you serve. If you are serving more than about a fifth of your stored volume each month, free egress has already paid for the higher storage rate.
About storage
Is it really S3-compatible?
Yes, for the operations that matter — put, get, list, delete, and the SDKs that wrap them. If you have a tool that writes to S3 today, point it here and it will work.
How do I serve files from it?
Create a delivery zone with the storage zone as its origin. Files you upload are then available on your delivery hostname, cached at the edge, with no transfer charge between the two.
What is the difference between the tiers?
Standard uses hard drives and Edge uses SSDs. For serving files through a delivery zone the difference is largely invisible, because the edge cache answers most requests. Edge is worth it when you have a lot of small files read unpredictably.
Can I use it for backups?
You can, but see above — if the backups are never served to anyone, Backblaze or Wasabi will cost you less and we would rather tell you that.
Are there request charges?
No. Storage is billed on what you store, not on how many times you read or write it.
How do replication regions work?
Pick additional regions and your files are copied there automatically. Each region adds to the per-gigabyte price, and you can add or remove them without moving anything yourself.
Not sure which you need?
Tell us how much you will store and roughly how much you will serve each month. We will work out whether this or a cheaper cold-storage provider costs you less — including when the answer is not us.
